Stay tuned for more on that soon. I've also been busy designing a mad graphic for APO Snowboards www.apo-snow.com which the logo you can see above and if that's not enough i'm midway through designs on a tasty AnyForty tshirt and a new artwork piece for a charity exhibition next month. Sheesh, no rest for the wicked. Looking forward to showing ya'll my new stuff in a few days. For now, this is just a public service announcement brought to you by Timba's News Dept. >.<

Some great news. I've been invited by the good folk at Design is Kinky to speak at his years 2010 Melbourne Semi-Permanent Conference in September along with Girl Art dump legend Andy Jenkins, Leif Podhajsky, Pixar Animation studio, Big Active, Akin Creative, Uva, Claire Martin and Frame-Store as some of the confirmed guests this year. After having spoke at last years Sydney, Brisbane and Perth conferences it's great to be coming back and on-stage in my hometown of Melbourne. I'm very excited and almost can't wait to come back for a few weeks from my temprary home here in London. I'm loving London life and doing Melbourne proud over here but like they say... home is where the heart is eh?. yay for MELBOURNE! Whats it all about? www.semipermanent.com

I was working on some sketches yesterday along a sticker design for the Any Forty label. Man about town in Bristol/Bath Mr.Alan Wardle, owner and proprietor of Any Forty is hitting a trade show in London to show off his latest range of tees and asked me and a few other fellow artists to whip up a design for a sticker sheet in our various styles to help promote the brand up against larger players such as OBEY and the likes. I call this one my Knicker Sticker! It's a shame Alan's not making knickers yet as these AnyForty knickers would look well rad on all you lovely ladeez no doubt. Will splash about the finished piece when i've... ummm..... finished!

I've recently been asked to design the cover of the September edition of Computer Arts Projects for their UK and American editions. Yay!!! It has been sooper fun and i'm pretty happy with my idea. The edition is all about 'Self Promo' so i went for a kind of vintage comic advertisement style. Just think about Growing your own Sea Monkeys or Sooper Dooper X-Ray glasses and you're on the right track. I'm almost complete by adding the final touches (textures) but here is a tiny sneek peek before it goes off to print on monday. Thanks to Alan, Julia and all the CAP staff. Glad you're diggin my work.

I’ve put some new work up in my type/logo and design dept’s. Have a peek and see what you think. I’ve been pretty slack with the blog updates lately. Terribly sorry but i think running a magazine, 3 websites and a freelance design biz is getting the hold of me a little. Anyone like to be my intern?? I will be putting some new UK adventure photos online soon so stay tuned for those. Easy peasy!

Lately i’ve been wanting to create a new look to my branding and get rid of the old and in with the new. I feel the look and feel of this website and my ‘brand’ to be the timba of the past and not the present or future. So, i decided to hit the drawing board and come up with a new feel. As you know, i’m right into retro/kitsch inspired graphics and shit so i’ve settled on this super neat ‘creative chef’ character mark and matching logotype. I’ve been having some fun cutting these out of lino and rubber to create a series of stamps which i’m going to use to press my own business cards and gift bags. Here are some process shots i took recently to give you a look-see. Stay tuned for the finished product soon.

On my trip last week back to hometown Melbourne i was lucky enough to be in town to see my ignore me billboard go up in the air and be plonked up top of a bulding. It was huge at a whopping 12m x 6m or something big like that. I’ve never seen my work so large before. It was quite a surreal moment and to celebrate my lovely friends Sarah, Bec and photographer extraordinaire Nicole Reed went down to take some snaps. Donuts and all! Silly me!

My new poster design ‘the vampire rollerbabes’ was featured in a group exhibition last night in Bristol (UK) by the good folks at Anyforty featuring original artworks by some of my favourite designers including Matt Taylor, 123klan and ilk. I’ve been really getting into the vibe of lo-fidelity faux movie posters lately. I’ve always been a huge fan of vintage cinema posters from the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s so look out for more of these from the right hand of Timba.
